The Golden Compass

I'm like a little child! If, unlike me, you do read papers and actually keep up with current affairs and movies etc, you probably know about The Golden Compass, forthcoming just in time for Christmas. It's a movie of the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman, which I just found out about today.

Go and find your daemon on the website!

Mine is Arion, the Tiger. Apparently, I'm modest, responsible, competitive and sociable, which is why my daemon is a Tiger... I always did have a think about cats :)))

What's yours?

Well that was a good bit of ECA avoidance. My daemon is an ocelot called Rasthmus. I'd have been disappointed if it wasn't some kind of cat! Apparently, I'm modest, solitary, inquisitive, fickle and outgoing. The 'fickle' one chimes with my zodiac sign, Gemini. Of course, it's all a load of rubbish...

of course it is, but anything is better than actually having to do the job in hand ;)

Fickle is good :D

Hey there,
There's a new writing project up at The Shameless Lions Writing Circle site. Please check it out and I hope you can take part and promote it. Also, check out the "latest news" section.
Cheers, Seamus.

I've read all the books - haven't worked out how to work out what my daemon is yet. Can't believe got to wait until the 7 December for the film. It looks amazing. Thanks for the link.

The trilogy is one of my favourite works of recent years. I don't usually go much on fantasy, but HDM is a work of such sustained imagination, underpinned by a very stretching philosophy, that I make an exception. And all told in very bright and lively language. Will the film live up to it? I hope so.

And for what it's worth my daemon is a tigress. I'm modest, assertive, shy, responsible and humble, and if you believe that you'll believe anything.

Colin, Frances, Jon M, I couldn't believe it when I read HDM, initially - I'm rereading at the mo, in anticipation of December :))))
