The Great Outdoors

I have a story in Indieoma's latest feature: The Great Outdoors.

It's called Jacob's Ladder. Have a look see and discover why rock-climbing is something of a passion of mine.

That's a wonderful, gripping story Barbara, infused with a gentle, restrained, matter-of-fact beauty and warmth. It unfolds perfectly.

Goodness Barbara don't tell me you climb mountains too. You are indeed multi-talented. Anything over ten foot makes me nervous!

Not only a poet but a short story writer too ... Congratulations, Barbara

A good read Barbara, I liked all the terms and detail that you wove into it.

Another string to your bow!

Good story! I seem to remember there's an iconic photo (well, iconic if you're into rock climbing!) of Tom Patey, fag in gob, ascending a corner on The Old Man of Hoy. He, sadly, died abseiling.

(I used to climb quite a lot. You may not have read this poem I wrote about climbing ages ago...)
