Yes Mary - thanks - it needs a bit of work, but I'm just road testing it for now - it'll be gone in a few days...

(Not least of all for those lovely kids!)'Earth has its own smell, a musty humus,as the whump and slither of a spade sucks upnew sods, whacked quickly to submission, white roots'this is beautiful - loved the whole poem of course ... but these lines especially.
