What a great article. Thanks for the link, Barbara. There's a gentleness, a whimsicality about Bill Bailey, matched with a formidable intelligence and a cutting edge that makes him a delightful alternative to the cruelty and nihilism that marks so much humour now. I think the guy's up there with Eddie Izzard.

I really like Bill Bailey...clever, funny, does his own wandering thing...what's not to like? My favourite line of his is the bit about the Argos catalogue being the 'laminated book of dreams'. So true, so perfect.

Dear Barbara, it would be great if you could purchase somewhere in Ireland The Stony Thursday Book N 7 Autumn 2008, it's a marvellous collection of poems by various Irish and International poets, if you enjoy it you could even talk about it in your blog...
A collection starting with two Seamus Heaney's works, continuing with Paul Durcan and many others...
and towards the end a poem of mine!
( I was so moved and felt so honoured when it arrived...)
